Setting Goals: Where do you want to go?
Setting goals can be a good way to reduce stress in your life. By creating clear, achievable benchmarks, you set yourself up for a more structured path of go where you want to go.
That’s what today’s page is all about: setting goals. Here are a few questions to help you get started:
What is one thing I achieved in the past week that I am proud of?
What is one thing I want to get done today?
If you’d like to share with other members of the Decompress community what your goals are, we have a space for you: the Decompress Community Board. You can post anonymously or not, it’s totally up to you!

Getting Organized: Starting a Daily Planner
Learning how to be organized can be a goal in itself!
Time management issues is a big source of stress for many students. We’ve all heard the usual tips for how to not procrastinate: build a schedule, get rid of distractions, etc, etc. But everyone is different, and different things are going to work for different people. Hopefully, Decompress can help you stay on track with your daily planning with helpful reminders and tips on organization. Once you’re organized, it’ll be easier to achieve bigger academic goals, like finishing a personal project or participating in school clubs.
Writing down what I have to do has helped me stay on top of my homework. Hopefully these links and tips will help, too. (click on the picture to learn more)
Eating Healthy
Your health goals are just as important as your academic goals. Overwhelmed, stressed students can often make poor choices when it comes to their food - skipping breakfast, overeating, unbalanced diets. It doesn’t mean you never get to eat sugar or junk food again. Everything should be considered in moderation.
Make goals for what you want your diet to look like. A few suggestions include: eating breakfast (!), drinking more water, limiting caffeine as much as you can. You can set reminders on your phone or write in your planner to eat breakfast and drink a bottle of water day. It’s easy to write it down or put it in your phone: these goals can help you go a long way.
