How to be in the Present
Being in the present is hard when you are thinking or worrying about the future or the past. Or you find yourself constantly of thinking of things you need to do when you’re eating, walking, or just sitting down. Being in the present will help our mental wellbeing find a happier, calmer place to be.
Here are your check in questions:
do you find it easy or difficult to pause and be in the moment?
what do you find yourself worrying the most about?
Take a pause and answer these questions with intent. Stop what you’re doing and think about it. When you’re done, move on the next activity :)
Activities
Pausing during routine work
Maybe in the morning when you’re going through the cycle of getting ready for the day, your head is elsewhere. It helps me to focus on what I’m doing then and there rather than what I'‘ll be doing in an hour. Write it down and check it off when you’re done so you keep yourself in the moment.
Learning something new
Immersing yourself in a new, challenging task can help you stay in the moment. You have to focus to get it done! Here are some videos and places where you can learn something new today:
More art:
writer’s digest poetry prompts
other cool things to try out!
girls who code - code at home activities
anybody can try this!!! :)

Why it is so hard to live in the present
With the pandemic, it’s hard not to get caught up in what seems like the endless cycle of news. We can step out of this cycle by learning to be more in the moment. That doesn’t mean we don’t have to be aware of our world. Tt just means that we can take a step back when we need to so that we can put our energy into the places and causes that we want to the most :) hopefully these videos will help with that.
