Tips for Anxiety
What is anxiety? Anxiety is a reaction to negative or stressful situations. The mind and body can both react to these situations, causing anxiety. It can feel like a sense of uneasiness, sort of like an undercurrent of worry.
Today’s page will lead you through a series of questions, activities, and tips for how to handle anxiety.

Establish good eating habits
limit caffeine
creating a routine with scheduled meal times can reduce anxiety. establishing a routine helps something, like eating a meal at lunch or breakfast, become habit. once it becomes a habit, it’s easier not to worry about it.
try snacks like avocados or almonds that are rich in vitamin B
Accept that you cannot control everything
feel what you are feeling. give yourself the space to feel those emotions
realize when you are feeling overwhelmed. take 3 deep breaths (inhale for 4, hold for 4, exhale for 4).
don’t fixate on the ‘why’ something happened. focus on what you can control and do that
remind yourself that this situation is not permanent
Learn what triggers your anxiety and talk through it with someone
find trustworthy people to talk to
here’s a quick reflection. name two people that you know you can turn to. describe what makes them worthy of your trust. and then find sometime to spend time with them!
find a piece of paper or open a new note on your phone. whenever you feel stressed or anxious, go to that paper or notes and write what you’re feeling. noticing patterns can help you figure out what is stressing you out.
