The Benefits of Gratitude
Many times, it is easy to get lost in overwhelming thoughts and ideas of bad things in life. That is why gratitude is important.
It is equally important to know what gratitude is as to practice it. One of the best ways to practice gratitude is through journaling.
Here are your check in questions to engage in gratitude!
1. What kind of day have you had so far?
2. What is one area in your life that you feel good about?

Gratitude Jar!
Gratitude journaling is a way of recognizing the sources of goodness and positivity from sources in our life. We can verbally demonstrate our gratitude; we can also write it down.
Step 1: Location (2 mins)
Find a space in your house that you enjoy the most. Maybe shoot for someplace with natural light.
Step 2: Materials (5 mins)
Grab your favorite pen, a piece of paper, and a container of some sorts (this will be your ‘jar’). For the third prompt, if you choose to complete it, you will need your phone.
Step 3: Writing (10 mins)
Now, in your favorite place (perhaps with a favorite snack), think and answer at least two the following questions:
1. What is one skill that you are grateful to have?
2. What is one thing you have today that you did not have a year ago that you are grateful for?
3. Scroll through the photos on your phone. Choose the memory you are most grateful for and describe it in a few sentences. How does it make you feel?
Step 4: the Jar! (30 seconds)
Fold your piece of paper and stick in the container! Congratulations! You’ve completed your first day of gratitude.
