Especially in times when we have to social distance, keeping connected with friends and loved ones is vital to our mental wellbeing. Friends can provide us a safe space to share our emotions and support us through rough patches.

Friendships during COVID-19
You may be finding it hard to keep in touch with your friends during covid-19. This comic/article from Vox tells a story of struggling friendships and the science behind them, but it leaves us with hope for our relationships. People need each other more than ever; this Psychology Today article lists 15 reasons why friendships are so important to our mental wellbeing.
Here are some virtual ways to keep in touch (safely!!!) during social distancing. remember to keep 6 feet apart (at least!) if you’re going out. And please wear a mask!!!
create spotify playlists together
it’d be cool to see what songs remind you of your friendship. leave us the names of your favorite songs in the post button for the community board!
phone a friend or facetime. it sounds pretty simple, but believe me, I find it hard some times. I find it easier to set aside a specific time to plan ahead for a call.
Write a Letter - and support the postal service!
The postal service needs saving! Write a nice letter to a friend and support them at the same time. Don’t know how? Follow these steps and buy your stamps here if you need them.
choose an envelope or postcard
envelopes must be made of paper!
address your mail. write both the sender and recipient addresses.
leave it in your mailbox and off it goes!
