Check in
Self Esteem
Self esteem is an important thing for students (and anyone in general) to have. Why? Because it helps us feel confident in who we are and therefore enables us to have faith in our ability to achieve the things we want to achieve. It helps us feel confident in taking on new challenges even when they seem scary at first.
Here are today’s check in questions to help you evaluate where you are with your self esteem:
What is one thing about myself that I am proud of?
How would I describe myself to others in three words?
What is one thing that I accomplished today (eating breakfast, drinking lots of water, keeping in touch with friends, etc)?
Activities
Self Acceptance through Positive Thoughts
Building a growth mindset is important for self esteem. You can reaffirm yourself and build this kind of thinking for yourself through positive reaffirmations. Here are a few examples.
Writing exercises for Self Esteem
If you’d like to do something more tactile for your self acceptance, check out these writing exercises for self esteem. Your mental health can benefit from this even if you do it once or twice a week. The important thing is to recognize that you deserve self acceptance :)
