Self compassion includes learning how to forgive yourself, how to recognize your ups and downs, and learning how to mediate your inner critic. Ways that you can practice self compassion:

  1. forgiveness for yourself

    1. maybe a little note (a post it or a phone reminder) telling your inner voice to be gentle today.

  2. expressing gratitude: check out gratitude activities and exercises

  3. practice the right level of generosity: balancing your needs and others’ needs in a healthy way.

    1. today’s act of kindness: plant one tree for one dollar

  4. mindfulness: lessen harsh judgment upon yourself when you are aware of the present moment rather than self criticisms, etc.

Come back to these things once in a while and ask yourself if you feel a difference when you practice these things? When you don't?
